Hormones #3

I thought I would finish the basic 3 before I talked about the “special” hormones.

OESTROGEN

Some herbs and plants have oestrogen like effects, they are called Phytoestrogens. It is much better to use proper Bio-identical Oestrogens prescribed and supervised by a medical practitioner.

When replacing we use a form known as Oestradiol.

  • Protects against heart disease
  • Protects against stroke
  • Lowers the risk of Alzheimer’s disease
  • Improves and maintains memory
  • Protects bones from osteoporosis
  • Maintains vaginal lubrication
  • Prevents bladder problems and recurrent bladder infections
  • Maintains our mood
  • Is essential for collagen and elastin protection and therefore the elasticity of our skin.
  • Maintains the natural balance of oils on our skin and scalp

Most of the side effects of Oestrogen occur when there is what we call dominance. That is not enough Progesterone to balance. It is a myth that patients taking Oestrogen do not need Progesterone.
