I heart Beetroot

I am currently obsessed with Beetroot juice

It is delicious and such a powerful little vegetable

  1. High in Folic acid
  2. High in magnesium
  3. Iron
  4. Potassium
  5. Vitamin C
  6. Vitamin B6
  7. lowers Homocysteine levels (high homocysteine leads to heart disease)
  8. lowers blood pressure
  9. Helps prevent strokes and Altzheimers
  10. Anti inflammatory properties
  11. It has a low Glycaemic index
  12. It boosts energy levels and helps burn calories

 

Here are some of my favourite mixtures (so far this week alone)

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1 Small apple
  • A large chunk of ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice (this is about 1/4 lemon)
  • x5 Handfuls of chopped Kale

 

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1 handful of fresh mint or frozen
  • 2 Tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1 Handful of fresh mint or frozen
  • 1/2 Glass of coconut water

 

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 3 Large Carrots
  • 1 Chunk of Ginger or 1/4 of Fennel heart
  • 1 Teaspoon spirulina powder

 

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 3 large handfuls of Kale leaves or 1/2 Teaspoon of wheat grass powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
